In the mid 1990s, while drinking himself to oblivion in an Edmonton flophouse, failed musician Dan Coffin learns his mother has died, sending him careening east, home to Toronto.

In turns dark, poetic and irreverently funny, Bastard Son of Rock is part road story, part hallucinogenic dreamscape; a sprawling recounting of rock’n’roll ineptitude on the lowest rungs of the showbiz ladder.

Trailing wreckage from the city’s back alleys to Arctic Circle watering holes, Dan confronts his past mistakes and fragile sanity, searching for that elusive patch of solid ground from which to build anew, and possibly, emerge redeemed.
